Mike Cannon Recognized for Excellence in Program Management
Mike Cannon is a retired U.S. Army brigadier general with an established career in the acquisition of military systems
STERLING HEIGHTS, MI, September 02, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mike Cannon, Senior Vice President of Ground Combat Systems for General Dynamics Land Systems, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in program management.
Mr. Cannon is a retired U.S. Army brigadier general with an established career in the acquisition of military systems. With 25 years of professional experience, he serves as the senior vice president of Ground Combat Systems, a company which specializes in the provision of land and amphibious combat systems, subsystems and components. Mr. Cannon manages programs in two major areas: the Abrams main battle tank and the Stryker family of combat wheeled vehicles. He is also developing the ground Combat Vehicle for the U.S. Army.
A graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Mr. Cannon holds a master's degree in national resource strategy. He also holds a second master's degree in industrial engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Science in electronics technology, both from Texas A & M University. Mr. Cannon, who has been honored with a number of military awards and medals, has done public speaking on topics of the military associated with acquisition. He is affiliated with the National Defense Industrial Association and AUSA. Attributing his success to his combination of education and experience, Mr. Cannon intends to become the president of one of his company's divisions in the near future.
