Edgardo M. Labao Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who
Mr. Labao strives to provide the very best food and service to the men and women in the US Navy
LONG BEACH, CA, August 29, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Edgardo Labao, Food Service Director for U.S. Navy Region Southwest, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in government food service.
With nearly four decades of professional experience under his belt, Mr. Labao remains dedicated to supporting the men and women of the U.S. Navy by providing them with the nourishment they need to succeed in their capacities. He oversees the operations of 13 Navy food mess halls in 12 Navy installations in the southwest region, a responsibility he has held for the last nine years. Mr. Labao has built a strong background in finance and business management throughout his 30 years of service with the U.S. Navy. He retired as a logistician lieutenant commander before transitioning into a field that would allow him to support military personnel.
Mr. Labao earned a Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal. He also received a 2009-2010 GSA Outstanding Civic Leader tribute. He serves as the president of Branch 302 of the Fleet Reserve Association in Carson, Calif., as well as of the United Bulakenos of California, Inc. He is a member of IMCEA, the Military Officer Association of America, and SIBAK, of which he is a former president. The highlight of Mr. Labao's career thus far was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Joint Endeavor. As a services officer on board a carrier, he was responsible for loading out all logistics support of food, retail goods for 30 days, and supplies in support of 6,000 military personnel within 36 hours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom after 9/11. Mr. Labao looks forward to experiencing continued growth in his field.
