TACOMA, WA, July 6, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dorothy M. Woods, Supervisor of Logistics and Maintenance Control for the U.S. Army, has been selected as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in military logistics.

A veteran of three deployments, Ms. Woods joined the U.S. Army in 1988 in order to contribute to the protection of her family, friends and country. For more than two decades, she has honed her talents in leadership, organization, communication, logistics management, project and program management, procurement, and supply chain management. In her 12th year as a logistics and maintenance control supervisor, Ms. Woods is entrusted with an array of vital tasks. These include managing a facility that involves 100 employees and $100 million in equipment, arranging services and transportation, and overseeing transportation management quality control and assurance. Ms. Woods considers meeting people from around the world and serving as a mentor to other soldiers to be the most rewarding aspects of her career. She attributes her success to the grace of God.

Ms. Woods holds an MBA in global business management and a Bachelor of Science in business management and economics. She is a Lean Six Sigma green belt, a certified hazardous materials manager, and an equal opportunity adviser. In the next few years, Ms. Woods intends to retire from the military, pursue a Ph.D., and either continue working in logistics or branch out into project and program management. She has two sons.
