Eugene Grabinski celebrates a successful career in accounting and a Legacy Award from Junior Achievement
GLENVIEW, IL, June 9, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ --Eugene Grabinski Sr., Retired Director of Corporate Accounting for Illinois Tool Works Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in accounting.
Mr. Grabinski began working when he was a seventh-grader with an inclination for hard work and exceptional study habits. Today, he is a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a naval officer and a retired accounting professional. He was most recently the director of corporate accounting for Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), a manufacturer of engineered products and specialty systems. Mr. Grabinski was tasked with overseeing internal and external financial reporting, handling tax and finance, and supervising a benefit accounting manager. He served in this capacity for 8 years. He previously worked for Signode Corporation for 26 years, where he was an assistant controller. ITW purchased Signode in 1986.
A certified public accountant, Mr. Grabinski holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from DePaul University. His professional affiliations include the Illinois CPA Society, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Internal Auditors Society. In 2010, he received a Legacy Award for more than 50 years of service from Junior Achievement, a nonprofit organization that educates and prepares youth for the workforce. Mr. Grabinski is an identical twin who enjoys travel and spending time with his four children and nine grandchildren. His beloved wife, whom he had known since the first grade (70 years), passed away in 2007.
