With 17 years of professional experience, Mrs. Varney attributes her success to the inspiration she receives from her husband, who is an Air Force Veteran. Her responsibilities at the New York Air National Guard include working with information technology, processing administrative orders for personnel leaving on assignment, and troubleshooting. She also owns a company with her husband named After Services, which is the largest computer repair business in Upstate New York, serving Vermont as well.

Mrs. Varney is a member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Magna Cum Laude, from American InterContinental University.
