Richard William Jenkins Celebrated for Contributions to the United States Military
Richard William Jenkins is Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year for 2009/2010

TONAWANDA, NY, April 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Retired Sergeant First Class (E-7), 25Z Visual Information Chief from the United States Army, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military service.

Now retired, Richard Williams Jenkins honed a specialty in operations and maintenance of information systems while serving for 23 years in the United States Army. As a Sergeant First Class (E-7), 25Z Visual Information Chief, he was responsible for maintaining and operating the military television and radio as well as overseeing satellite communications. Mr. Jenkins served from 1966 to 1990, including Vietnam between 1967 and 1968 and Korea between 1980 and 1982. He is also a Cold War veteran and served in Germany, Korea and Panama. A third-generation member of the military, he attributes his success to his motivation and military background.

For dedicated service to the United States military, Mr. Jenkins was honored with a number of high-profile awards. He was presented with the Meritorious Service Medal on two occasions and the Army Commendation Medal on three occasions. He was also honored with the Army Achievement Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device bar, Meritorious Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross with silver device, the New York State Conspicuous Service Star with silver device, German Army Bronze and Silver Shooting Awards and the German Army Reserve Silver Honor Pin.

Mr. Jenkins holds an associate of applied science in electrical engineering technology from Erie Community College. He is a lifetime member of the Dallas Safari Club, the Boone and Crockett Club, the National Rifle Association, Disabled American Veterans and Vietnam Veterans of America. He is also a lifetime member and former commander of The American Legion Post 264. Looking ahead, Mr. Jenkins intends to continue assisting other veterans and begin teaching at the pulmonary rehabilitation center.
