Sgt. Major, Hubert D. Walker noted for invaluable contributions to society
CHUCKEY, TN, March 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Sgt. Major Hubert D. Walker of the Disabled American Veterans has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military operations and veterans services.
Cambridge Who's Who is proud to honor Sgt. Major Hubert D. Walker of the United States Army for his professional achievements during his active duty in the Army and with disabled American veterans. Hubert served for 38 years in the United States Army Special Forces Green Berets. He saw numerous tours of active duty including those to Korea, Vietnam and Japan. Because of his leadership and courage under fire, he was decorated on six separate occasions with the Bronze Star. He ended his military career as a Sergeant Major, one of the highest ranks attainable by enlisted service men and women. For the last seventeen years, Hubert has worked for disabled American veterans, providing services to those in need of financial assistance, transportation to and from medical appointments, and assistance in everyday tasks. He also visits veterans who are unable to return to their families due to ongoing medical issues requiring continuous hospitalization. His dedication to approximately 262 fellow service men and women is a testament of his character, integrity and core beliefs.
Noted for his solid training and interpersonal skills, Sgt. Major Hubert D. Walker regards the most rewarding aspect of his career as having the opportunity to serve his country. In addition to the Disabled American Veterans, Walker is a member of the Greene County Veterans Association, The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. In retirement, he enjoys fishing and spending time with his six living children, 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
