Annie Andrews Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Annie Andrews Named Military Support Services Professional of the Year

ALEXANDRIA, VA, March 1, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Captain Annie B. Andrews, Executive Assistant and Naval Aide to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs for the U. S. Navy has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Military Support Services. While inclusion in the Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

Since receiving her U.S. Naval Officer's commission in 1983, Annie Andrews has more than two decades of distinguished government service. She has served at numerous duty stations across this nation and around the world. She currently is located at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. serving as Executive Assistant and Naval Aide to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs. In this capacity she applies her human resource management expertise and functions in the development, implementation, and administration of various manpower policies and programs.

Multi-talented Captain Andrews is also a gifted singer. She has performed as a soloist at numerous military and civic functions, among the highlights of which was the President's National Day of Prayer service at the Pentagon following the September 11, 2001 attacks. She was honored with the W.C. Shipman "Trail Blazer" Award for her contributions to the community, the Navy and the nation, and; with the Army Chief of Chaplains' "Scroll of Honor" Award for her service to the Pentagon Chapel Music Program.

Captain Andrews, a native of Midway, Georgia, is a cum laude graduate of Wilson College, receiving a Doctorate in 2007; Master's Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the College of Naval Command and Staff, Naval War College in 1999; a Master of Science Degree in Management from Troy State University in 1986 and; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Savannah State University in 1983.
