John F. Avery's passion for his country led him to enlist in the United States Army

FAYETTEVILLE, NC, February 9, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --John F. Avery, Sergeant Major of the United States Army, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in counseling, advising and people management.

As a sergeant major of the United States Army, John F. Avery is responsible for processing personnel for assignments, evaluations and promotions, overseeing operations, and advising and counseling personnel. He became involved in his profession because of his passion to become a soldier, and he attributes his success to his ability to work with people.

Sgt. Maj. Avery completed coursework at Sergeants Major Academy and received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Fayetteville State University in 1998. He is a member of the Association of the United States Army and the Legion of Merit.
