William F. Hoover to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
William F. Hoover's return to the PAPD to work on the recovery operations after 09/11/2001 at the World Trade Center was the highlight of his career.

LAS VEGAS, NV, November 8, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William F. Hoover, retired Gunner's Mate with the United States Coast Guard, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in personal/executive security and canine training for protection purposes.

William F. Hoover was a Gunner's Mate aboard the USCGC Castle Rock (WAVP-383). He also served in combat with Coast Guard Squadron One, Division 12 based at Da Nang, RVN. This assignment provided him with service aboard Patrol Cutters Point Dume, Orient, and Gammon along the shoreline and into the rivers of Vietnam. Mr. Hoover's final U.S. Coast Guard assignments were with the Hazardous Materials and Pollution Units of Captain of the Port, Albany, NY and New York City, NY.

Upon completion of his service with the U.S. Coast Guard, Mr. Hoover was employed by the Port Authority of NY and NJ Police Department. He rose to the rank of Police Lieutenant. He served this agency in many capacities. He is well known for his work in the field of accident reconstruction and as a canine unit administrator. Mr. Hoover was also a Watch/Tour Commander at all the New York/New Jersey area airports, tunnels, bridges, the PATH Railroad, and the World Trade Center. This put him in charge of the day-to-day public safety operations and the immediate responses of police, fire, and medical services for these major transportation facilities.

Mr. Hoover holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey), earned in 1980. He has completed various training courses and seminars on subjects relating to his career. In recognition of his service, Mr. Hoover received U.S. Military (Coast Guard) medals, awards, and citations, Port Authority of NY and NJ Police medals, awards, and citations, and The State of New Jersey Medal of Valor.

Mr. Hoover is a charter member and the first president of the Coast Guard Combat Veterans Association, and a member of the New Jersey Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association, and the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Theft Investigators Association. He names Three Square as his favorite cause and enjoys volunteering with local food banks, the Humane Society of the United States, and Best Friends Animal Society. Mr. Hoover has published 21 poems on various subjects and is a NASDS Certified SCUBA Diver. He attributes his success to his drive, education and supportive wife.
