Shannon D. Geib Recognized for Excellence in Engineering
Shannon D. Geib holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and hopes to advance within Disney's engineering department

ANAHEIM, CA, November 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Shannon D. Geib, Sound Mechanic for Disney, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in troubleshooting.

For the past 10 years, Mr. Geib has worked as a sound mechanic. He supervises projections and controls for rides at Disneyland Resort and Disney's California Adventure Park. He is responsible for monitoring computers, animatronics and managing sensors, show lighting and special effects. Driven to pursue a career in his field by his interests in electrical engineering, he believes that his success has resulted from his enjoyment of his work.

Formerly, Mr. Geib served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He joined the Marine Corps delayed entry program in 1978 and began serving the following year. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1983. He reenlisted in 1987 and was again honorably discharged in 1991 after serving in the gulf war.

Mr. Geib holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, which he earned in 1997 from the ITT Technical Institute. He is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, The American Legion, the National Eagle Scout Association and the National Rifle Association. In the future, Mr. Geib hopes to advance within his company's engineering department; he aspires to design rides for Disney's amusement parks.
