Samuel W. Bartholomew celebrates 30 years of success in his career

NASHVILLE, TN, November 8, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Samuel W. Bartholomew, Chairman Emeritus of the law firm, Adams and Reese / Stokes Bartholomew LLP, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in law and business management.

Samuel Bartholomew Jr. was founder and Chairman of Stokes Bartholomew Evans & Petree, P.A., and assisted in the firm's merger with Adams and Reese in 2005. As a senior partner, Sam is actively involved in business development at the firm and provides advice to clients at the federal, state and local government levels. He has a broad practice including corporate, health care and aviation law, as well as governmental relations and economic development.

Sam is a former bank attorney and Past Board Member of Fannie Mae and four other banks and financial institutions. He has been active in governmental affairs, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, served on corporate boards and chaired and served in various civic and nonprofit organizations throughout Tennessee.

His other significant contributions include: serving as Past Chairman of the Legal Committee of Airports Council International (legal committee for all airports and air carriers); serving as adjunct professor and teaching legal practices in both Vanderbilt Law School and Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt; serving as a Board Member and General Counsel for the economic development initiative Tennessee Tomorrow, Inc.; serving as Director-General of the first Tennessee trade mission to France, on the board of the Tennessee European Economic Alliance, as a Trustee of the Tennessee Technology Foundation and as a member of the Tennessee Economic Education Council. In 1984, he received the Tennessee Governor's Outstanding Tennessean award. He is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Sam is a decorated Vietnam veteran and was chairman of the Tennessee Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program. In the community, Sam sits on the Fort Campbell Historical (Wings of Liberty) Foundation's board of directors. The foundation's primary mission is to "Preserve the Legacy" of those that served in years past. He also chaired the Chamber of Commerce committee that helped to stop pari-mutuel gambling in Tennessee

Sam graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1966, where he was a cadet captain and linebacker on the Army football team. He attended Airborne School, Ranger School and Jungle Warfare School, and was commissioned as an Armored Cavalry Officer, served tours of duty in Europe, Panama and Vietnam, and received a total of 22 medals and ribbons. He counts his father, wife and pastor as his most important advisors.
