Paulette L. Sanford to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry

WASHINGTON, DC, November 4, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paulette L. Sanford, Chief, Division IRM Governance for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the field of Information Technology (IT). Ms. Sanford has 35 years of public service. She graduated from Trinity College, Washington, D.C. in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She enjoys volunteering in the community, writing poetry, and performing ministry work. Ms. Sanford is looking forward to retiring from public service and opening her own employment services business and spreading the good news of the Gospel.
Ms. Sanford began her career as a public servant in the Junior Fellowship program working for the Food & Drug Administration. She later joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve where she served her country as a supply clerk. After basic training, Ms. Sanford accepted a position at the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Office of the Secretary (OS) as a GS-4 office assistant in the Computer Operations Division where she processed telephone payments, and conducted inventories of circuits. Ms. Sanford's eagerness to learn catapulted her into a position as a Communications Specialist with the DOI U.S. Geological Survey. She managed a Xerox network, installed telephone lines, and monitored network servers. After six years, she became a Network Administrator with the DOI Office of the Secretary managing a Novell network and working with mini-computing technology. In 1997, Ms. Sanford joined the BLM team as an IT Services Manager responsible for managing Washington, D.C. computer operations. Other positions of interest at the BLM include: National Configuration Manager where she published the first BLM Configuration Management Manual Handbook; Chief, Division Investment Management responsible for the oversight of a $20 million dollar budget; and Chief, Division IRM Governance responsible for Section 508 compliance, records management, freedom of information act, information quality, configuration management, and IT asset management. She attributes her success to great opportunities and working with talented colleagues.
