Dr. Allen F. Chapman Named Professional of the Year in Higher Education

HARTFORD, CT, November 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Allen F. Chapman, a retired professor formerly of Rensselaer at Hartford, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Higher Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

A now retired professor with over 31 years in higher education - he taught for 20 years and served as a dean for 10 - Dr. Allen F. Chapman is recognized for his invaluable contributions to Rensselaer at Hartford. During his prodigious tenure at the esteemed university, Dr. Chapman was responsible for a myriad of duties including faculty hire, program improvement and development, and faculty incentive initiatives.

Crediting his success to the educational opportunities that were availed to him during his service in the United States Navy, Dr. Chapman notes that he initially became involved in teaching through his long-standing interest in finance. Dr. Chapman holds a doctorate in finance from the Harvard Business School, earned in 1965.
