Celebrities Embrace Cake Chalet's "Mixes for the Military" Program
Customers have the opportunity to donate bags of cake and frosting mix to military families where a parent is on deployment.

April 07, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Forty celebrities attending the pre-show gift room event for the 2010 Kids' Choice Awards demonstrated their support for American troops by signing gift labels for Cake Chalet's Mixes for the Military campaign.

Participating celebrities range from young stars like Madisen Beaty (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Eden Sher (The Middle), and Thomas Hobson (The Fresh Beat Band) to those who work behind the scenes, like award-winning writer/producer Peter Murietta (The Wizards of Waverly Place).

"We were deeply moved by everyone's desire to get involved," said Christine Buckley, founder of Cake Chalet Premium Cake and Frosting Mixes, "and we are honored that they chose Cake Chalet as a venue through which to express their support for the brave men and women who are serving abroad and the families they've left behind."

Cake Chalet offers 92 flavors of gourmet cake mix and 38 flavors of frosting mix. Through the company's Mixes for the Military program, customers have the opportunity to donate bags of cake and frosting mix to military families where a parent is on deployment. Donated mixes will be delivered with a special gift label bearing the name of the donor. Although the campaign began as a local outreach, Buckley is determined to muster support on a national level.

"It's important for the public to realize that this is not just a celebrity outreach," Buckley added. "All Americans from all walks of life are encouraged to participate. With approximately 250,000 troops deployed worldwide, there are a lot of children waiting at home who deserve to know we're thinking of them."
