Gilberto Resto Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Gilberto Resto is a recipient of six Coast Guard Good Conduct medals

PHILADELPHIA, NJ, December 3, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gilberto Resto, BSB, CWO, Chief of Finance and Procurement for the United States Coast Guard, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military financial affairs.

With 24 years of professional experience, Mr. Resto specializes in contract and financial management. He is responsible for overseeing the entire unit's budget, negotiating contracts, ensuring the year's proper funding, processing claims and handling credit card management. United States Coast Guard is a defense government organization dedicated to the protection of the United States. Mr. Resto enlisted in 1985 and was assigned as the seaman apprentice. In June 2007, he reported aboard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia, as the Chief of Finance and Procurement. He found his niche in economics while studying engineering at Temple University, and attributes his success to his stepfather's support and mentorship. He also delivers motivational speaking and leads outreach programs for young individuals.

Mr. Resto obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management, from Phoenix University in 2005. He is a member of the New Jersey Lodge 62, the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Association, the Association of Naval Services Officers and the Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers Association. He has obtained numerous awards and honors, including three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals and three Commandant Letter of Commendations. He was also recognized as the Outstanding Coast Guardsman and the Coast Guardsman of the Quarter. In the future, he intends to become a chief warrant officer IV, a lieutenant or a contract specialist for the government.
