Donald Nelson Specializes in Military Logistics
HUACHUCA CITY, AZ, December 3, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donald Nelson, Unit Movement Coordinator & Director of Logistics for the U.S. Army, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military logistics.
After an injury curtailed his career in active duty, Mr. Nelson decided to devote his career to Army logistics. He became unit movement coordinator and logistics director for the Army in 2000. His responsibilities include preparing and training units on procedures and policies for deployment and redeployment, tracking inbound and outbound cargo, and coordinating and implementing transportation for passengers and unit movements for soldiers being deployed. In active duty for 15 years prior to his fateful injury, Mr. Nelson attributes his successful transition into the administrative side of the military to his upbringing.
Mr. Nelson attended Boston University and St. Mary's College as well as Cochise College in Sierra Vista, Arizona, where he obtained his Emergency Medical Technician certification. He is a member of the Military Order of the Cootie and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Additionally, he serves as chaplain of his local motorcycle club and of the Southeastern Arizona chapter of VFW. In five years, Mr. Nelson aspires to become an installation transport officer.
