William David Shatka Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
William David Shatka recognized for invaluable service to U.S. veterans

OMAHA, NE, November 16, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William David Shatka, Employment Coordinator for the Veterans Benefits Administration of the United States Department of Veteran Affairs, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in veterans services.

After completing his tenure as a senior medical department representative for the United States Marines, William David Shatka knew that he had to continue serving the U.S. military in any way that he could. So, he began a career with the United States Department of Veteran Affairs' Veterans Benefits Administration as Employment Coordinator, a position he has now held for nearly four years. Today, Mr. Shatka is responsible for offering employment services to 900 veterans throughout the State of Nebraska. He educates his staff members on program plans, tools and initiatives, and advises counselors on veteran triage services, which fall under five tracks: reemployment, rapid access to employment, employment through long-term services, independent living and self employment.

In an exclusive interview with Cambridge Who's Who, Mr. Shatka asserted that now, more than any other time, it is of utmost importance for veterans to be able to make a smooth career transition from military to civilian life. His motivation to realize such a dream has driven his career with the Veterans Benefits Administration, and he is distinguished by his vision and strong work ethic. As he moves forward, Mr. Shatka will seek to obtain a position within the Education and Curriculum Development Department at its Office of Central Operations.

During his 12-year military career, Mr. Shatka received dozens of commendations for performing above and beyond the call of duty while in the desert, at sea, in many foreign lands, and stateside. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in education. He holds an educational specialist degree from Liberty University, a dual master of arts in management and leadership and human resources development from Webster University, a bachelor of science in healthcare management from Southern Illinois University and an associate degree in general studies from Central Texas College. He is a proud contributor to Adopt-a-Family, The Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries International, Inc., Meals On Wheels Association of America, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and the Saturday Scholars Elementary Tutoring Program.
