James T. (Ted) Rodriguez Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
James T. (Ted) Rodriguez celebrated 45 years of Federal Service to the United States of America


HAYES, VA., December 18, 2009, James T. (Ted) Rodriguez, an Aviation Operations Analysis for the United States Army, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military affairs.

With 45 years of Federal Service (23 in the Military and 22 in the Civil Service), Mr. Rodriguez has served in the United States Marine Corps, United States Navy, and the United States Air Force, and now works for the United States Army as an Aviation Operations Analyst, where he is responsible for supervising all fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft training, resourcing for students and training aircraft, managing aviation training and the US Army's Flight School and five other Army aviation units with more than 560 aircraft under his control. He also ensures that all pilots are in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, ensure that all aircraft mechanics are trained on fixed and rotary wing aircraft, guarantees that students receive their orders after graduation, he handles budgeting, supervision of unmanned aerial vehicles training involved with Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and that ensuring all training plans of instruction and training manuals are correct.

Drafted in 1964, Mr. Rodriguez began his service the United States Marine Corps, in 1966 he joined the United States Navy, and in 1970 he joined the United States Air Force. He served as a UH-1 pilot in Vietnam for six years, has flown in Lear Jets(C-20/23s), F-15s (WSO), and setup the Field Training Detachment (FTD 301) for A-I0A's in Myrtle Beach, SC in 1979 and transferred to Field Training Detachment 201 (FTD 201) at Langley Air Force Base, VA in 1985 where he was the Superintendent of training for F-15's. When he retired after 23 years of service to the United States, he was offered a Civil Service job where he developed the Department of Defense (DOD) manual for Internal and External Loading of Military Helicopters. During which he flew helicopters for all 5 military services (USMC, US Navy, US Air Force and US Coast Guard) where he taught pilots and ground crews how to carry sling loads (cargo carried under the aircraft by slings), and developed a manual for the recovery of damaged aircraft by helicopter for the DOD which is now in use by all military services. He is responsible for ensuring that training of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's) is completed and students are sent to units in the Army that handle DAVs in OIF/OEF.

Mr. Rodriguez obtained his Masters of Science in Business Management from Old Dominion University in Virginia, and is a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association, the Army Aviation Association of America, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He attributes his success to his dedication to his country, and for allowing him the privilege and honor to serve a Great Country like the United States both in war and in peace.
