Rebecca S. Halstead Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Halstead is the first female graduate of West Point to advance to the rank of Brigadier General
SALADO, TX, October 16, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rebecca S. Halstead, Executive Director for Leader Development for The Praevius Group, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in her career.
Ms. Halstead has 28 years of overall professional experience. At The Praevius Group, Inc., she is responsible for consulting, and conducting motivational speeches for military personnel and civilians. Prior to her current posistion, she served the United States Army and was deployed in Iraq for a year. Ms. Halstead is the first female in United States history to command in the Third Corps Support Command, the highest level organization for logistics in the combat theater of Iraq. She also served in Europe as the Deputy Commanding General (Chief Operating Officer) for the 21st Theater Support Command and has experience leading a multinational team in depot level logistics operations. Additionally, she served as the Chief Advisor to the Combatant Commander (Four Star General). Ms. Halstead was responsible for military training and operations in Latin America, and coordinating directly with high-level organizations including the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of State, U.S. Congress, U.S. Ambassadors and equivalent foreign military and civilian organizations.
In 1993, Ms. Halstead received her Master's Degree in Military Art and Science from Command and General Staff College. She received her Master's Degree in National Resource Strategy in 2000 from the National Defense University. A member of the Association of the United States Army, she serves as an advisor for the West Point Association of Graduates and as spokesperson for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress. Ms. Halstead serves as president for the United States Army Ordnance Corps Association.
Ms. Halstead is the recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal; Defense Superior Service Medal; Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster; Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters; Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Achievement Medal; Air Assault Badge and Army Staff Badge. She attributes her success to her obedience, determination, and to her faith in God.
