Costa Rican Vacations Honors Veterans Day With 11% Off Luxury Vacations
A luxury travel agency in Costa Rica is awarding U.S. veterans and active duty military personnel 11% off the total price of their vacation to Costa Rica if booked by Veterans Day.

SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA, October 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Any man or woman that has served the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom in times of war and peace is eligible to receive a flat discount of 11% off their vacation to Costa Rica if booked before Veterans Day on 11/11 of this year.

All veterans and active duty personnel serving in the Military, National Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard can enjoy this significant discount upon presenting a copy of ID from their specific military branch to their travel consultant. The discount will be applied to the total cost of the entire traveling party's vacation itinerary, excluding credit card fees and international flights.

Costa Rican Vacations, which has a decade of experience planning luxury escapes to the Central American nation, has never before offered a discount of this scale to any target group, according to agency owner Tony Silva, a Minnesota native. "After a difficult economic year throughout the world, the added stress on families who have loved ones fighting for the better good in the Middle East and abroad represents a true sacrifice to their countries," Silva said. "We wanted to do something to impact their lives in a positive way."

Several of Costa Rican Vacations' staff members who come from military families noted the sense relief expressed when visiting military personnel realize that Costa Rica has no standing army. A relaxing, affordable trip to Costa Rica's beautiful beaches and mountains allows them to truly detach from the stresses that come from having spent time in the service. Silva said that he expects a strong response from veterans and active military personnel and is excited to be a part of crafting stress free vacations for them to the Happiest Country on the Planet.

Sales Manager Richard Bexon, whose father served as a Major in the British Army, said "I've had soldiers call us directly from Iraq on a cell phone to book a vacation to Costa Rica for their one or two weeks of leave. These guys have been through a lot and they come to us looking for a relaxing escape".

Marketing assistant Claire Saylor, who grew up with a father serving 12 years in the U.S. Navy, predicts that honoring these heroic men and women will be a positive experience for all parties as military personnel have a reputation for being valuable clients.

"The military instills the values of trust and honesty in their personnel, which makes for loyal customers, many of whom have proven to be vocal advocates for our agency," Saylor said. With vacation discounts between $350 and $650 for a family of four booking a 7-night Costa Rica package, the agency is likely to gain many more brave and vocal supporters.
