Education Connection Launches New Site to Help Our Military Make the Most of Their GI Bill
Education Connection launched a new site on August 3 aimed at helping those in the military community best make use of their Post 9/11 GI Bill or Montgomery GI Bill benefits by matching them with military friendly online colleges.

BOCA RATON, FL August 05, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On the heels of the August 1 effective date for the Post-9/11 GI Bill, Education Connection launched a military focused Web site today to help veterans and active duty service-members interested in online education find military friendly schools.

Even though the new GI Bill offers 36 months of tuition payments, a monthly housing allowance, a yearly book stipend, and transferability to family members, service-members who choose to enroll in online colleges will find their benefits decreased.

Many online colleges have made up for this by joining the Yellow Ribbon Program - an agreement with Veterans Affairs to make up some of the tuition costs that the new GI Bill does not cover. Service-members can also elect to keep their Montgomery GI Bill benefits, which may in some cases better cover their education costs.

The new site will help service-members navigate this complex situation, matching them with military friendly schools that can guide them in best making use of their benefits. The site also offers a military-focused checklist of questions designed to gather the data necessary for them to make an informed decision about their benefits and their school.

Education Connection also offers:
• Trained advisors well-versed in military benefits and military friendly schools.
• A blog focused on news pertinent to today's student.
• A social community on Twitter and Facebook with up-to-date education news and online study tools.
