FORT LEWIS, WA, August 20, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Capt. John Nathan Maynard, Aeromedical Physician Assistant for the 4/6 Air Cavalry Squadron, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military healthcare.

As an aeromedical physician assistant for the 4/6 Air Cavalry Squadron, Capt. John Nathan Maynard is responsible for performing physician assistant duties in the United States Army. He became involved in his profession because he wanted to serve the country while he was in high school and he considered attending medical school but he enrolled in the United States Military Academy at West Point in lieu of school. He later graduated from the University of Nebraska Health Science Center with a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies while increasing his service obligation in the United States Army. He attributes his success to hard work, persistence and patience.

Capt. John Nathan Maynard completed coursework in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska after graduating from West Point in 1998. He is the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Meritorious Service Medal. Capt. John Nathan Maynard hopes to continue working in the military as a brigade-level physician assistant and specialize in dermatology.
