WASHINGTON, DC, July 23, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki will meet with President Obama to discuss a long term partnership between Iraq and the United States. Maliki will also be seeking U.S. investment in his war torn nation and brining both his ministers of interior and defense for the visit. In addition, press reports note that the Prime Minster will stop by Arlington Cemetery to honor the sacrifice of those who died fighting in the liberation of Iraq.

Marisa Cochrane currently serves as Research Manager for the Institute for the Study of War. She served as the Command Historian for Multi-National Force-Iraq in the first quarter of 2009. She also won a civilian service award for her research and writing about the implementation of the Status of Forces Agreement, Provincial Elections, and other major issues. Marisa holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies from Boston College, where she held a Presidential Scholarship and won the prestigious McCarthy Award for her scholarship in the Social Sciences. She has also studied at the London School of Economics.
