Charles A. "Chuck" Chase to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
Charles A. "Chuck" Chase celebrates a 37-year career in federal financial management

SAN ANTONIO, TX, July 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles A. "Chuck" Chase, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Retired), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of federal financial management.

Throughout his career, Mr. Chase concentrated on planning, programming and managing Army resources for the effective and efficient accomplishment of the Army's missions, at the least possible expense to the American taxpayer. Mr. Chase's federal career began as a budget analyst at Fort Wayne, Detroit, Michigan. After serving as the budget officer of Fort Wayne, he became the deputy comptroller and then comptroller at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Following an assignment as comptroller of Pueblo Army Depot, in Pueblo, Colorado, he was assigned to the Office of the Secretary of the Army in the Pentagon. As the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Operations), he was responsible for the monitoring of the utilization of federal funds throughout the Army, and oversight of the auditing, inspecting and investigating of Army activities and their performance. Mr. Chase also served for eighteen years as a member of the Army Board for the Correction of Military Records, the last five years of which he served as the senior chairman of the board. Mr. Chase had a personal concern for the development of young careerists and in all assignments, mentored and encouraged the development and advancement of those with exceptional talent. He attributes his success to his faith in God and to hard work.

Mr. Chase received a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois in 1957 and completed graduate work for a Masters of Arts in Industrial Relations, also from the University of Illinois in 1958. He served, along with his wife, for almost thirty years as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, receiving the award of the Silver Beaver and the Order of the Arrow Distinguished Service Award. He is a member of the Association of the United States Army, the American Society of Military Comptrollers, the National Rifle Association and the Texas Rifle Association. He and his wife are members of Parkhills Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Since retirement, Mr. Chase has continued speaking engagements, while remaining in close contact with current members of the federal government.
