Robert Jan Horowitz began his aviation career by serving in the Vietnam War

FAIRBURN, GA, June 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Jan Horowitz, Aviation Base Manager for Omniflight Helicopters, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of aviation.

Robert Jan Horowitz has 40 years of experience in professional aviation. He lends his expertise to Omniflight Helicopters, an air medical service company. His responsibilities include overseeing base management for emergency medical services helicopters and revieving three direct reports. Mr. Horowitz' background in aviation can be traced to his time in military service; along with his late brother Gary, he underwent military training and fought in the Vietnam War during 1969 as part of the Casper Aviation Platoon of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. His father, a licensed air mechanic who served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and after the war spent 40 years building military and civilian aircraft for Republic Aviation, was the primary influence in his choice of career. He attributes his success to his learned leadership skills and to the support he received from his mentors.

A graduate of the University of West Florida, Mr. Horowitz received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1979. He is an active member of the Congregation B'nai Israel in Fayetteville, GA.
