MCLEAN, VA, May 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Suzan F. Zimmerman, Senior Vice President of QinetiQ North America, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of defense consulting.

Suzan F. Zimmerman has 28 years of professional experience. She has spent the last three of these years in her present position at QinetiQ, an IT company that offers engineering consulting and technology-based products and services to government and commercial clients. An expert in communications, she meets with high-ranking officials in the Air Force, Navy and Marines to discuss defense technology and equipment such as weapons systems, bulletproof vests, and bandwidth radar and sonar. Ms Zimmerman started her IT marketing career at IBM. In 1990, SAIC hired Ms Zimmerman as the youngest Vice President of Business Development, where she remained thru 2006, leaving with the title of Senior Vice President. She joined Qinetiq that same year as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. After obtaining a military assignment with the Department of Defense, she realized that she enjoyed the work so much and decided to make it her concentration. She attributes her success to her love for her profession. .

An alumna of Michigan State University, Ms. Zimmerman earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1977 from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. She is a member of the Potomac Officers Club, the Professional Services Council, and United Service Organizations. In her spare time, she volunteers with the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and speaks about QinetiQ's technology at her son's high school. In five years, Ms. Zimmerman aspires to volunteer in local high schools to help young women plan their careers and find what will make them happy.

QinetiQ North America provides research, technical advice, technology solutions, and services to customers in core markets of defence and security. It operates principally in the UK and North America and has recently entered the Australian defence consulting market.
