John Parker Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in City Management

FOREST PARK, GA, March 13, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Parker, City Manager of The City of Forest Park, Georgia, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of city management.

With 38 years of professional experience, Mr. Parker specializes in program management. As the city manager of The City of Forest Park, Georgia, he is responsible for overseeing numerous public programs including public parks, recreation departments, senior centers and senior Olympic activities. Additionally, he manages water treatment, sewage, laboratory analysis and supervises police and fire department performance. Prior to obtaining his current position, he served as a warrant officer in the United States Army. He was honored as the 2008 Executive of the Year in City Management by Cambridge Who's Who and considers hard work, discipline and attention to detail to be the driving forces behind his success.

Mr. Parker earned his Master's Degree in Physics and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico. He received his Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Iowa State University and is a member of the International City Manager Association, the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police and Mensa International.
