LAS VEGAS, NV, January 23, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Darren T. Wheeler, Pathologist at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.

With 13 years of professional experience, Dr. Wheeler specializes in gynecologic and breast pathology. In his current position at Quest Diagnostics, he is responsible for diagnosing tissue samples and working in the laboratory. Prior to joining Quest Diagnostics, he served in the U.S. Army for six years and achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. He is a 2006 recipient of Young Investigator Award from the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists and a 2004 recipient of an Army Commendation Medal for gynecologic and breast pathologic consultation from the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. His fascination with science and disease inspired him to pursue a career in medicine, and he attributes his success to his dedication to early cancer diagnosis.

Dr. Wheeler received his MD from the University of Washington in 1995 and his Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from the University of California in 1990. A board certified pathologist, Dr. Wheeler is a member of the International Society of Breast Pathologists and the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists, and volunteers for the American Cancer Society.
