For the developers of this exclusive social network, Amelia Rush/Remi Claude Aubin, it is a "Thank You for Your Service & Your Sacrifice" being sent out to all of the military personnel and their loved ones. Amelia says that she recalls once hearing a Vietnam vet say " No One ever said Thank You " and that stuck with her all these years, so this is her way to ensure that our soldiers know that we are saying Thank You!

Along those lines they are challenging ALL political candidates across Canada to rise to the occasion and support the nation's peacekeepers, by funding the website's maintenance and moderation expenses!

They are contacting every candidate running in the October 14, 2008 election asking for a one time donation, per candidate, and in exchange, will give the candidate a home town front page link on Adoptapeacekeeper.com, for 1 year.

Since ADOPTAPEACEKEEPER.COM will not be a commercial website, funding for its operations must come from somewhere, and since it is the government which deploys the troops, the developers of the website thought that it would be nice to give the candidates a chance to show their individual support of the peacekeepers and their families.
