As president and founder of the Center for Terrorism Awareness and Crime Prevention, Mr. Bell is responsible for developing a clear network of communications between law enforcement and the civilian population on the threat of terrorism.
/Military and Defense News Articles/ - Philadelphia, PA, April 7, 2008, Edwin S. Bell, President and Founder of the Center for Terrorism Awareness and Crime Prevention, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in law enforcement.
As president and founder, Mr. Bell is responsible for developing a clear network of communications between law enforcement and the civilian population on the threat of terrorism, as well as conducting seminars on antiterrorism and anti-crime issues. Prior to founding the Center, he worked in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office for nearly 10 years, servicing victims of crime, assisting in the prosecution of various criminal activities and serving as a member of the Keystone Crisis Intervention Team. He is currently writing a book detailing his experiences at the DA's office. Mr. Bell stays current with the developments in his profession by reading industry publications and attending seminars and training programs. His future goals include collaborating with foreign governments in setting up international antiterrorism networks, and establishing venues in which first responders and law enforcement officers can receive counseling for stress-related matters resulting from their job.
Mr. Bell obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from La Salle University, where he graduated cum laude, in 1996. In 2002, he completed his certification in Terrorism Studies sponsored by FEMA. He has been certified by the State of Pennsylvania as a Terrorism Awareness and Prevention Instructor and currently serves as the Pennsylvania Chapter Director for the International Association of Counterterrorism and Security Professionals.
